Tony Curtis & Janet Leigh

A tribute to Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, set to Astrud Gilberto’s “Far Away”. Curtis and Leigh were one of Hollywood’s golden couples, along with Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee, Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner, but like the others mentioned, there were problems behind the picture-perfect image. They costarred in six films together (“Houdini”, “The Vikings”, “The Black Shield Of Falworth”, “The Perfect Furlough”, “Who Was That Lady?” and “Pepe”). Their marriage lasted for eleven years and produced two daughters, Kelly and Jamie Lee Curtis. No doubt the stress of their careers, homelife, keeping up their images and Tony’s wandering eye took their toll. They both remarried, but, hopeless romantic that I am, I like to think that there was a part of their hearts that was reserved for each other. Since Janet is gone now, the song seemed to work well both with the fact that she has passed on and the fact that their marriage fell apart. Again, effects were fun to experiment with. Enjoy!
