If you can’t catch anything in the lyrics at least you can catch “this maudlin career has come to an end, I don’t want to be sad again”, I mean c’mon, the title is “My Maudlin Career” after all.

@davidhenning Ahah, I thought it was “This war in Korea has come to an end” Good thing I know the lyrics now. I have this song on repeat when I go to work.

Love this song! Brilliant. Piano is so simple and pretty.

Every time that I hear this song, it just sends me. The album is one of the most solid pieces of work that I had the pleasure of listening hearing; let alone owning.

The arrangement for this song is so jaw dropping. I really ache with not being able to see them in Cincinnati, Ohio for a free concert. The guitar on this is mad intense. If you don’t have this album – get it! :-)

Vulcranium, thanks for the lyrics. It still sounds like she says “It’s warm in Korea, has come to an end” LOVE this band!

You kissed me on the forehead
Now this kiss is giving me a concussion
We were love at first sight
    Now it’s crush
    It’s crushing
Now choose two stops through the city though
    I’m lost easily
I took to the desert but my heart just whines
    and deceive me

  18. on 29 Jul 2010 at 10:08 am vulcranium

    Now we’re in love again
    And you’re wherevers
    I’m not a child I know
    We’re not going steady

You’re pain’s gigantic but it’s not as big as your ego
Promise not to abandon you, please let me go

Now I’ve been hurting your feelings
    Yeah they were worth protecting
They say I’m too kind and sentimental
    Like you could catch affection

  19. on 29 Jul 2010 at 10:56 am vulcranium

Oh in your eyes there’s a sadness
Enough to kill the both of us
    Are those eyes overrated?
They make me want to give up on love

I’ll brace myself for the holiness
Say hello to feelings that I detest

This maudlin career has come to an end
I don’t want to be sad again
This maudlin career has come to an end
    I don’t want to be sad again – 2x

I listen to this one every time I feel bored, depressed, and nothing/no one seems to talk to me, coz I’m boring, depressing and very quiet more often than I’d like to admit. Lock myself in a room, away from the world… only to hold it all in my thoughts.
